The UNESCO World Heritage listed Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park covers 156.08 km² . The IUCN Category II National Park is situated on the border of Spain and France in the Pyrenees of Huesca province, Aragon, Spain. There has been a National Park in the Ordesa Valley since 1918. Aside from the spectacularly rugged scenery, soaring mountains and plunging valleys, the area is home to Pyrenean Chamois, wild boar, marmottes and great birds like the golden eagle, the bearded vulture and the griffon vulture. The reward at the end of the 2.5 hour drive from Le Belvedere are well worth the effort.
